Lela Gilbert

Adjunct Fellow Lela Gilbert has authored and co-authored more than sixty books, including most recently, Blind Spot: When Journalists Don't Get Religion (2008), with Senior Fellow Paul Marshall. Gilbert and Marshall also co-wrote the award-winning 1996 survey of anti-Christian persecution, Their Blood Cries Out (1997).

She wrote Baroness Cox: Eyewitness to a Broken World (2007); she served as managing editor of Lt. Carey H. Cash's award-winning, best-selling account A Table in the Presence: The Dramatic Account of How a U.S. Marine Battalion Experienced God's Presence Amidst the Chaos of the War in Iraq (2005). She is co-author of Windows to Heaven: Introducing Icons to Western Christians, with Elizabeth Zelensky (2005) and authored Albert Paley: Reconfiguration (2009). She has published fiction and children's books as well.

From 1997 to 1999, she served as co-editor with Nina Shea for the Center for Religious Freedom's First Freedom publication; in 2006-7 she assisted Paul Marshall in preparing the CRF's survey, Religious Freedom in the World. She resides in Jerusalem.
